The Association was founded on November 29, 1946 by Dr. Samuel Engle Burr,Jr. who became and remained President General until 1987. THE CHRONICLE made its first appearancein May 1948 and is the official organ of the Assocation. It is chartered as a patriotic and educational organization of the membership type. The Association is interested in the life and career of Colonel Aaron Burr, who served as Vice-President of the United States from 1801-1805. it seeks to support historical research and the determination of historic facts germane to Aaron Burr. It is interested in the teaching of American history in our schools and the presentation of American history in books, magazines and newspapers. The annual dues for membership are $15.00 per calendar year. Membership includes a subscription to THE CHRONICLE.
